Zou Zou has been designed and developed in Sydney, Australia. We take pride in Zou Zou being an Australian company that is family-owned and run.

Assembly is done overseas.

At the moment, we are shipping primarily to Australia and New Zealand, with plans to ship to the following countries soon: United Kingdom, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, United States of America, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Poland, Greece, Belgium, Austria, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine. *This list may change at any stage due to worldwide supply chain and freight variables, so if you’re outside of Australia, please contact us before pre-ordering.

6) What if my country isn’t listed?

We’d love to get Zou Zou to you, wherever you are. With time, we’ll be shipping to more countries. Please reach out to our team to let us know where you’re from, and we’ll see if we can make any exceptions.

7) What is the cost of shipping?

Shipping costs will vary depending on the country of destination. Mandatory import taxes or duties may apply for your country, which will be payable by the recipient. We will clearly specify any rates or helpful information as we have it, so please contact us at info@zouzoucoffee.com with any shipping questions.

8) Where will my Zou Zou machine ship from?

As each Zou Zou Coffee machine is being tested here in Australia, we’ll be warehousing and shipping all orders from Australia. This helps us to optimise warehousing costs and delivery timeframes. We’re working with an established and reputable fulfilment service to ensure all orders are managed efficiently and well.

9) When can I expect to receive my Zou Zou?

Zou Zou is expected to ship in late-2023 pending uncontrollable delays in parts delivery and production. Estimated times of arrival per country will be posted as soon as they are available.

10) Will taxes or duties apply?

Please look up your country’s policy for any local import taxes or duties charges.

11) How many modes are there?

Zou Zou has two coffee-making modes; Automatic Mode and Manual Mode, as well as a Rinse Mode. Automatic Mode makes your coffee with the ideal crema, as our team has intended. Manual Mode allows you to brew the coffee multiple times, to your liking, as you would on a stovetop.

12) What is Zou Zou constructed of?

Zou Zou’s external chassis is constructed of 0.6mm thick chrome 304 stainless steel for its durability and stylishness.

13) What is the voltage of Zou Zou?

Zou Zou runs on 240V. All the internals of the machine are powered by 24V DC except for the primary heating element, which runs on 240V AC.

14) What type of power plug does Zou Zou have?

Zou Zou has an Australian 3-pin 10Amp detachable power plug.

15) How long is the power cord on Zou Zou?

Zou Zou has a 1 metre IEC-C13 10Amp power cord.

16) How do I clean Zou Zou?

Zou Zou’s rinse mode will take care of internal cleaning. The drip tray should be emptied and rinsed as needed or whenever full. The exterior of Zou Zou is best wiped down with water and a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Only use cleaning agents that are suitable for brushed stainless steel. Lastly, Zou Zou comes with a cleaning brush to facilitate internal cleaning.

17) How often does Zou Zou require cleaning?

We recommend using Zou Zou’s Rinse Mode after each use. This process will flush the machine with water to clear out any remaining coffee grounds. Emptying the drip tray and wiping down the exterior should be done as needed.

18) Is the drip tray removable for cleaning?

Yes, the drip tray is removable for emptying and easy cleaning.

19) How long does the rinse mode take?

Zou Zou’s rinse mode takes around 10 seconds. Using the brush (included) before starting the rinse mode will help to loosen coffee grinds and result in more effective cleaning. We advise giving your Zou Zou a more thorough clean with the brush on occasion to help remove any residue.

20) How does the water tank work? What is the volume?

The water tank is removable and is located in the rear of the machine, accessible via a hinged top panel. To fill the tank, pour in cold water using a funnel. You can also remove the tank for cleaning. The tank capacity is 4.0L.

21) What type of pump does Zou Zou have?

Zou Zou has an internal diaphragm pump that brings the water from the water tank to the boiler. 

22) Can Zou Zou be connected to mains water?

The current model of Zou Zou runs with a water tank. We can alter the machine to include a mains water connection. After this alteration is done, the machine can be filled by hand or through the mains water. *If you’d like a mains water connection, please contact us before pre-ordering.

23) Does Zou Zou come with a coffee grinder?

Zou Zou does not feature a coffee grinder. Please use ground coffee or grind whole coffee beans yourself prior to adding to your Zou Zou.

24) Can I get replacement parts?

If your Zou Zou is faulty within the warranty period, we will replace or repair your Zou Zou free of charge. Shipping costs may incur for returns. In the unlikely event that a replacement part is needed, they will be readily available by contacting our Australian-based team. We’ll arrange the order and shipment on your behalf. Costs will be incurred outside of warranty.

25) What is the ideal coffee roast and grind profile for Zou Zou?

Zou Zou is designed to take any Turkish, Arabic or Greek coffee, typically fine to extra fine grind. Most finely ground coffee presently used can be added to your Zou Zou.

Typically Turkish, Arabic or Greek coffee is best brewed using a fine to extra fine grind and generally roasted towards a darker roasting profile. This process helps the immersion and solvency of the coffee within the hot water, creating a stronger extraction and flavour. We recommend seeking out your local Turkish, Arabic, or Greek coffee supplier or testing a few different fine to extra fine grind styles to find what you enjoy best.

26) What’s the recommended dosage for coffee and sugar per cup?

We recommend 1 heaped teaspoon of ground coffee per cup or more if you prefer a stronger coffee. The amount of sugar is a matter of preference and can be added before or after brewing. If you want to add spice to your coffee, such as cardamon or cinnamon, you should grind a small amount with the coffee beans or add a small amount of finely ground spice to the ground coffee for your Zou Zou.

27) How consistent is Zou Zou at making coffee?

We’ve rigorously tested Zou Zou to perform consistently from cup to cup. From the brewing temperatures to the extraction volumes, Zou Zou will make a consistent cup every time.

28) What is the life expectancy of Zou Zou?

For home or medium commercial use, the life expectancy of Zou Zou is approximately 10 years. We have chosen to manufacture Zou Zou using the highest quality parts and are prioritising the use of chrome 304 stainless steel instead of plastics where possible.

29) Does Zou Zou come with a warranty or guarantee?

Zou Zou is covered by a 12-month standard consumer warranty in Australia. The warranty includes replacement or repair during the cover period.

30) What is Zou Zou’s refund policy?

Based on Australian Consumer Law, we provide a full refund, minus costs of shipping, for any manufacturer defect within a 12-month period. Outside of this coverage period, we will happily arrange for the repair of your Zou Zou at an additional cost. Unfortunately, we do not provide a refund if you change your mind.

31) What customer and technical support do you offer?

Zou Zou includes a printed instruction manual with each machine, which explains the machine’s operation and provides tips to help get the most out of your Zou Zou. You can also refer to the online version on our Instruction Manual and Guide page for more information.

32) What measures does Zou Zou take to ensure sustainability and minimise environmental impact?

We've kept all product development, initial prototyping, testing, and distribution in Australia. These efforts help to contribute towards job security and innovation on Australian soil.

Our manufacturing processes are carefully considered to reduce excessive and unnecessary use of less sustainable materials such as plastics. The machine is made predominantly from stainless steel instead of plastics to ensure a more durable, longer-lasting appliance.
